For Belgian accounting firms

Your day moved from keying invoices to reviewing proposals

Since January 2026, most Belgian B2B invoices arrive with the supplier, lines and VAT already structured. The work now begins with the accounting treatment and the exceptions. We wrote a guide about doing that review well, and about what to do with the time it frees.

24 pages, in French or Dutch, with a 20-question vendor checklist.

What is in the guide

Written for certified accountants and tax advisers registered with ITAA, and for the colleagues who prepare and review client work. Financica is named on four pages; the rest applies to any vendor.

  1. 1Questions we hear in firms, answered with what is actually in the law
  2. 2Extraction, suggestion and conversation: three kinds of AI, three different controls
  3. 3What Peppol changed since January 2026, and what still arrives as a PDF
  4. 4A workflow designed for review: the precedent, the reason, the approval, the trail
  5. 5Professional secrecy, GDPR roles and the firm's own duties under the AI Act
  6. 6Advice that begins in the ledger: a monthly routine and the Belgian triggers
  7. 7Twenty questions to ask any vendor before signing, with our own answers
  8. 8How to run a one-month trial on two of your own client files

Three things the review screen shows that most suites do not

The precedent is part of the proposal

Under a proposed account, Financica shows how the same client treated similar transactions before. Consistent history produces the proposal without a model. Mixed history goes to the model, and its one-line reason is shown.

A person approves, and the approval is recorded

Nothing is posted until someone on your team accepts the row. The audit log keeps the user and the time, which is what a client, an auditor or an ITAA quality reviewer will ask for.

The assistant answers from the ledger, in your language

Ask the client file a question in French or Dutch and get an answer with links to the entries behind it. Write mode is off by default; when it is on, each change waits for your approval.

Peppol, documents and bank data in one queue

Register the client's enterprise number and Financica becomes its Peppol receiving point: structured invoices land as fields, not pictures. The remaining PDFs, photos and hosted invoices are read into fields shown beside the original, with the sums checked. CODA, CAMT.053 and bank PDFs are matched against open invoices, and the lines that find no match stay visible until someone deals with them.

The boundaries

  • The review screen never turns a proposal into a posting on its own.
  • The assistant changes nothing unless write mode is on and you approve the individual action.
  • The assistant has no retrieval over Belgian legal sources; a tax answer needs a source check.
  • What has never entered the ledger stays with your team: a planned dividend, a verbal agreement with the bank.
