Connecting DigitalOcean

Import your DigitalOcean invoices and credits into Financica automatically.

If you host with DigitalOcean, Financica can pull your invoices and credits in automatically. When you open an expense that looks like a DigitalOcean invoice, a banner offers to connect DigitalOcean.

How to connect

  1. Open a DigitalOcean expense, or go to Settings > Integrations > DigitalOcean.
  2. Click Connect DigitalOcean.
  3. You are redirected to DigitalOcean to authorize read-only access. Financica can never change anything in your DigitalOcean account.
  4. After authorizing, you are returned to the integration page.

What gets imported

  • Every invoice, in every format. Each DigitalOcean invoice is attached to its expense as a PDF, a CSV usage breakdown and a JSON summary.
  • Your credit balance. Financica reads your current DigitalOcean account credit balance and keeps it up to date.
  • Credit grants. Promotional credits granted to your account are recorded as income when granted.
  • Invoices paid with credits. When an invoice is settled from your credit balance, it is marked paid against your DigitalOcean Credits account, with the matching bookkeeping entries created for you.

Good to know

  • Access is read-only and limited to billing data.
  • New invoices and credits are picked up automatically on a regular schedule; you can also trigger a sync from the integration page.
  • A fully credit-funded invoice nets to zero in your books: the credit you received as income is offset by the hosting expense it pays for.
