User settings control your personal experience in Financica. These settings apply to your account across all organizations you belong to.
Accessing user settings
Navigate to Settings > User in the sidebar, or click your avatar in the top corner.
Profile
Your personal information saves as you change it; there is no Save button on this page. A small marker beside each field shows what happened: a spinner while the change is being saved, a green check once it is, and a message if it could not be saved.
- Full name -- Displayed in comments, audit logs, and team member lists. Saved when you leave the field.
- Email address -- Used for login and notifications. Saved when you leave the field. Because it is your login, a new address is not switched over immediately: Financica sends a link to your current address, and you keep signing in with the current one until you follow it.
- Profile picture -- Your avatar, shown throughout the interface. Uploaded as soon as you pick a file.
Display preferences
Customize how Financica presents information to you. Each choice saves the moment you make it.
Locale
Set your Interface language. Financica is available in English, French, and Dutch. The change applies immediately: the page reloads in the language you chose, and it affects interface text and formatting conventions.
Date format
Choose how dates are displayed throughout the application:

This setting only affects how dates appear to you. It does not change how dates are stored or how other team members see them.
Notifications
Control what email notifications you receive. Each box saves as soon as you tick or untick it; there is no Save button.
- Comments -- Get notified when someone comments on a transaction or invoice you are involved with.
- Newsletter -- Receive product updates and tips from the Financica team.
- Weekly cash report -- Receive a summary email every Monday with your cash balance, top transactions, and outstanding invoices for each organization you belong to.
- Product tips -- Occasional emails when something in your setup needs attention, such as your e-invoicing registration.
Theme
Financica supports both light and dark modes. Choose Light, Dark, or System under Appearance on your profile page. Your preference is saved automatically.
Security
The Security tab holds your password, your passkeys, and the accounts you can sign in with. See Account security.
Channels
The Channels tab connects a messaging app, such as Telegram, so you can talk to the Financica assistant outside the web app. See Using the assistant on Telegram.
